Title: High School Cafeteria Worker
Location: Merit Preparatory Academy
We are looking for a pleasant, hard-working, and reliable person to join our school lunch team. We have a part time position available. You must be able to work every school day Monday–Friday.


Starting at $13/hour, possibility of increase based upon experience

Essential Functions:

– Work well with other staff and students demonstrating a positive attitude and professionalism
– Assist with maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and cafeteria areas
– Assist with food—cook, prep, and serve
– Assist with documentation and counts
– Able to work in a fast-paced environment
– Knowledge and adherence to school policies

Terms of Employment:

– Part-time work from 10:00am–3:00pm
– Option to substitute for other employees as needed
– Required annual trainings
– Wage depends on work experience
– Every employee must pass a fingerprint/background check
– Have and maintain a Food Handlers Permit (within the first 2 weeks of

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

– Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, twist, and move quickly. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Merit Preparatory Academy seeks a dedicated Paraeducator/Tutor to facilitate our In-School Suspension program.

HOURS: 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM on regular school days, Monday through Thursday. 8:15am to 2:00pm on Fridays.

WAGE: $15/hr


Help students who are in ISS be successful and re-enter regular classes.

Help students with their homework/classwork for various classes.

Help students with their binder organization.

Help students stay on task throughout the day.

Teach mini-lessons about character and good classroom behavior.

Keep records of students moving into and out of the program.

Work with other teachers on attaining assignments for student success.

Support student learning and engagement in the classroom as needed.
