I was born in Oregon, where I spent many days curled up with a good book during rainstorms. This cemented my obsession with stories and literature. I then moved to St. George, Utah for middle school and high school, where I gained my love for sunshine and the outdoors. Reading and being outside in warm weather are two of my greatest joys.
I graduated from BYU in 2018 with a Bachelors in English Teaching. The culminating event of my college career was my Study Abroad experience in London, England, where I studied for several months one summer. Some fun literary highlights include attending the Globe Theater as a “groundling” to see Macbeth, reading from original manuscripts at the Wordsworth Trust in the Lake District, and reading the poem, “Dover Beach” while standing on that same beach beneath the cliffs of Dover! Some of the most fulfilling experiences of my life have been travelling to cherished places that I have read about.
Teaching at Merit Academy is my first full-time job out of college! I have loved being a part of this school. Along with my regular classes, I’ve had the opportunity to help coach soccer and basketball, which brings out my endearing competitive side. 🙂 Most of all, I just love working with the students at Merit. They truly are incredible.
