Caralee Earl

Special Education Teacher at Merit Preparatory Academy

Cara grew up in a small town in Southern Utah (Parowan) where she spent her time reading books from the town library. She read all the Nancy Drew books they had, including all of the ones from the 1950’s. She attended a high school very similar to Merit. It included grades 7th -12th and had about 450 students total. After high school she attended BYU for 2 years and then got married and had 5 children. One of them had trouble learning to read (Mrs, Sitton taught her how to read) which inspired her to go back to college and major in special education.  She graduated in 2011 from Utah State University with a major in mild/moderate special education. She started teaching at Merit during the 2011-2012 school year, where they talked her into teaching math. Cara hated math as a student, but found that helped her support kids to understand math.  SHe loves to sew and quilt and spend time with her family.
