On October 14th, students in Merit’s ASK Club gathered to prepare and assemble books for Navajo children who live in Monument Valley. My Story Matters is a nonprofit organization committed to capturing children’s stories and photos and helping them create a book that validates their life stories.

Merit has worked with My Story Matters in the past, helping gather stories and photos. This year, students helped assemble the photo albums that children will use to finish their “My Story Matters” personal books.

“It was such a neat project,”, said Tennyson Hirst, senior at Merit Preparatory Academy, “to work with my friends at Merit and help people who are suffering. The world needs more service right now, more goodness. I am glad I got to help.”
