The Merit Cross Country team traveled to Huntington State Park down by Price to race 3 other small schools in a quad meet. It was hot and dusty and the course was a bit longer than usual, but all the student-athletes rose to the occasion and ran hard. The boys team tied for first, with 4 boys placing in the top ten; notably, Samuel Berhe came in 2nd overall with a time of 19:04. The girls team dominated, scoring a perfect score of 10 as a team (1st place getting 1 point, 2nd getting 2, etc. Lowest score wins) and winning outright. Susannah Sutherland took 1st and Katrina Mellor took 2nd with times of 22:56 and 22:59, respectively. We’re very proud of their performance and look forward to the rest of the season!
