Idalis Bedore, a senior attending Merit Academy in Springville, has received the Daughter of the American Revolution Wasatch Range Chapter’s 2018-2019 Good Citizenship Award and has been featured in Herald Extra. She entered the DAR Good Citizens essay contest and answered the question of which new challenges the nation will face in the future by stating that the nation should work together to overcome challenges around immigration, racism and issues of gun safety.

DAR or Daughters of the American Revolution, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children.
